We, a student liberation kamp [ aks ], a newly formed student group are deeply worried about many emergency facts which are dragging students into socio-economic crisis. Students have been going through several crises for a long time and it has just intensified in this post-pandemic period due to the inflations and increased price of everything. When the minimum hourly wage has not been increased enough yet, students are struggling a lot to make up for the accumulated deficit that they already have faced during the pandemic. To aid suffered students; AStA, the ministry of education, and other organizations have been providing some funds which are not enough for all the affected students anyway. In that case, Studeirendenwerk and other related organizations should have extended their hands to help students on that regard. On the contrary, Studierendenwerk has increased the rent for all the student dorms up to 10%, and the prices of food in Mensa have been increased as well to escalate their sufferings.

To fight against the increased rent, a self-organized student group have organized three demonstrations already. In each of the demos, they tried to communicate not only with the students but also with other related groups. Though AStA has published a statement regarding the Mensa price recently, unfortunately, due to some unknown reasons, we have not heard anything regarding the increased rent from the student parliament or AStA! Therefore, as a part of the university of Muenster and a concerned student group, we are concerned about the role and stance of the student parliament and AStA regarding the students’ crisis. So, we strongly demand the clarification from the aforementioned organizations regarding their role, position, and stance.
